Community Assistant - SF

Sugar Inc. is looking for a savvy, social networking guru to join our Member Services team as the Community Assistant supporting the PopSugar Network in our San Francisco office. Our ideal candidate will be detail-orientated with a passion for engaging with our community and supporting our member base, and will have a strong skill set in communications or client services with past experience in the social media sector. The Community Assistant will take an active role in customer support for all Sugar Inc. properties such as PopSugar Community, OnSugar, ShopStyle, and ShopSense, and represent the Sugar brand through all external correspondence.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Community Manager daily with monitoring user-generated content across the PopSugar Network, taking action when members break our Community Rules
  • Respond promptly to "reported content" by editors or members
  • Provide effective solutions for member complaints or inquiries via our site contact forms
  • Track bugs or enhancements for ShopStyle and prioritize high level issues with ShopStyle Content team
  • Collaborate with marketing dept. to notify members for site giveaways
  • Participate in weekly QA testing for new features and bug fixes, with a focus on the "member experience"

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of professional experience in communications, customer support, client relations, community management, or related field
  • Strong interest in social media/social networking
  • Exposure to building online community and blogging platforms
  • Superior attention to detail in all internal and external communications, and strong verbal and writing skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Willingness to take on evening and weekend work
  • HTML and Photoshop skills preferred
