Director of UX
Sugar Inc. is looking for a Director of UX to join the team!
Responsibilities:
- Lead the user experience and innovative product design for PopSugar's network of sites, including optimized mobile experiences
- Think through and execute consumer flows, wireframe, ad placements, preliminary design and implementation
- Develop scalable and flexible design frameworks and patterns to ensure the experience is simple and cohesive
- Work in a hands-on capacity in developing the vision, conceptual models, personas, scenarios, wireframes, and UI documentation
- Collaborate with a team of business partners, designers and engineers to get project done on-spec and on-time
- Work directly with executive team and key stakeholders to understand the vision and strategy for the brand, design and present creative that ties to business objectives and supports the consumer experience
- Help define and implement ongoing improvements to the creative processes in order to develop and deliver the best creative product for end users
- Have the ability to communicate complex technical issues simply and convincingly to a wide range of audiences, prioritize well, and understand how to drive focus and excellence within a strong, talented, opinionated team
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of design experience with focus in digital and training from an accredited design program
- Advanced understanding of typography, kerning, leading, grids and visual layout and design systems
- Solid understanding of basic HTML/CSS code, methodologies and the technology and platforms that support online design
- Bachelor's or equivalent degree
- Able to remain nimble and flexible working on a multitude of projects at once, while understanding the importance of balancing speed and quality
- Has high energy and thrives in a fast pace environment
- Has a strong visual point of view and can clearly articulate innovative visions and strategies to help evolve the brand
- Able to take direction and feedback from all levels, using the feedback to guide a better user experience and design
- Expert written, verbal and presentation skills
- Ability to work successfully with multiple business functions and successfully influence stakeholders at all levels of an organization
- Entrepreneurial self-starter, innovative thinker, aggressive executor
