GiggleSugar Editorial Assistant— San Francisco

Are you always finding off-the-wall stuff on the Internet to send to your friends? Do you have a quirky sense of humor and a penchant for writing funny prose? We’re looking for someone with the web surfing skills of a true addict to serve as the full-time editorial assistant at GiggleSugar. Responsibilities include working with the editor to find funny videos and photos online, brainstorming new features for the site, reaching out to other sites to spread the word about GiggleSugar, and updating online features. This position could also lead to writing opportunities. Candidates should have one to two years work experience, and a BA in English or other related field is required; previous blogging experience is preferred. All work is full-time and on site in San Francisco. Salary plus benefits.

UI Design Engineer

Sugar seeks a talented UI Engineer with a unique combination of aesthetic design sense and implementation skills. You care just as much about the look and flow of a site as you do about the details of implementation. You brainstorm, mock up, and iterate on design, and then implement to the point of pixel perfection. You have strong opinions about what sites you like and why, and can point to beautiful sites that you have brought to market.

Responsibilities

  • Evolve feature and site ideas into concrete and beautiful UI designs.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent.

Executive Assistant/Receptionist

Sugar Inc seeks a highly motivated, energetic self-starter to be our executive assistant and receptionist. As the executive assistant, the individual will be responsible for supporting executive staff members, including the CEO, Editor in Chief and Managing Editor. Primary responsibilities will include managing executive’s calendars and meetings, coordinating all office travel, handling and submitting expenses, planning parties, events and company meetings. Individual will also serve as the receptionist for the company. Responsibilities will include greeting all visitors, handling all incoming calls, routing and delivering mail and deliveries and handling additional miscellaneous administrative tasks like filing, faxing, and data entry.

Ideal candidate will have superior organizational, written and oral communication skills, strong computer skills, especially on Mac systems, an ability to take initiative, be flexible, work independently, and also be a good team player. Prior experience booking travel as well as maintaining calendars a plus. Minimum three years relevant work experience required.
